A Challenge to Kafirist

This old tired thread at the COEX forums grabbed my attention recently when I found out that I had been denounced in a silly fashion by Osmanthus back in April. Due to other things happening at the time I didn't check up on it but as time went on it was used a lightening rod of sorts to back up the claim that I will look for whatever evil I see in Islam no matter how remotely connected. Upon reading this I checked the responses to that old thread and what I got from Osmanthus was this:

You're pathetic, Ansar. Fair enough if you want to criticise Islam for its faults. We all do that and there is plenty of material for sure. However people like you sort of give me the impression that you sneak off home at night rubbing your hands together like Monty Burns and go to sleep with a smirk on your face happy that you have managed to scrape through another day without admitting that Islam is not 100% pure, unadulterated evil.

Now it that's what you get off on then whatever, but for anyone less obsessive about the topic it does make you seem rather troppo. Perhaps monomaniacal would be a better word if you aren't familiar with Australian colloquialisms. I have no emotional attachment to Islam so I have nothing to defend here, but on the other hand I have no reason to deliberately avoid seeing any good in it at all. This is particularly the case when you take into account the diversity of opinions within Islam.

Yes, the book on which it is based is a pile of insane medieval twaddle and the bloke who started it was a thoroughly nasty individual but he did **** up occasionally and throw in a few little good bits. Nobody's perfect.

This response of Osmanthus's was posted way after my last posting on that thread and looks ridiculously out of place and was obviously written in a rage. What is interesting is that none of the posters (with the exceptions of Baal and Zaephon) there quoted anything of what I wrote or even responded coherently.

It looks like Kafirist can't face up to my challenge and would rather play the sort of games of evasion that are the norm over where he normally posts. Let's hope that he can at least try to get over here and not blame the holiday season for not showing up.

This is a troll pure and simple. It also reminds me of a conversation I had with another apostate who remarked about how 'gangsta' slang and pseudoculture permeates the thoughts of so many in the Ummah. This one may be out of the Ummah but he hasn't dropped all the baggage yet.

Well we have an invitation for CoEM members to come and argue here, to refute your case. Sadly, Q-man stated "**** you" and f.cked off, which pretty much sums up his miserable attitudes to rational discourse.

Maybe osmanthus would dare to come over here to make a few points. After all, banning his critics for telling the truth is a pretty low-down thing. It is fine for him to ban people on false evidence and then hide behind his admin status at CoEM, but he's too full of chickenshit to come over here and debate where he has no power to silence or censor others. Methinks he really is too much of a coward. After all - he deletes posts that make him look bad. Berberalla even deleted some of my posts within five minutes of me making them.

How about the great Berberella? I am sure she could contribute something here. Or is she just too busy gossiping and engaging in superficial chit-chat? Or Cheeto/Cheetah?

She used to post here but does not do so any longer. What does she believe in, if anything?

I thought I was the only one who had posts deleted over there but now I know I'm not alone. You see, this is what happens when someone holds the untenable position that "I've left Islam but I'm not against Islam". Once it is enshrined it becomes necessary to keep marketing a brand of Apostacy Light beer with a new slogan to keep that campaign going. As it becomes known to some people that this is only a "near beer" and brewed with 100 percent pure Nile River water the campaign managers will have to resort to other tactics and so the wizard has to press certain buttons in certain ways to stop the machine from clogging up and coughing out broken bits and pieces.

This is when cosmetic makeovers have to be implemented and what better way to do that than start on about the "Beauty of Islam"? It can be a tricky subject but since there will always be a sucker born every minute one is bound to see curious newcomers who know very little about the brewing process do a taste test. The kudos will pour in and things start looking up in the sales department. Meanwhile, those of us who are familiar with the chemical process will have noticed that the sugar content has been elevated to an unnatural degree. Any objections coming from local homebrewers who can detect the not-so-subtle differences have to be met with a variety of tactics. One of the best ways to counter attack is to associate these isolated homebrewers with other corporate competitors. For a while it just may work and as the kids keep drinking this near beer and comment merrily about the froth and sweet "tastiness" with great enthusiasm but the wry smiles from the old-timers do indeed have a slow but telling effect. Little by little the youngsters start to feel woozy and as the nice lady from the Ministry of Truth hands out ribbons and badges for doing such things as being dancing fools and pretentious prattling a gurgling sound starts up in the crowd and that's when the lineup at the lavatory gets longer and longer.

What does this unfortunate chain of events teach us? For one thing, it can be a time to kick back, relax and appreciate our own humble and faulty ways even if we wind being misunderstood.

You call it apostasy light, I am of the opinion that these guys are more like "cultural" muslims, still believing in the superiority of many/most Islamic values against Western modern ones and still practising Islam in rituals but not believing in the ideology anymore.

That's the effects from the sugar overload in the batches that are being brewed. It requires regular imbibing and peer pressure to keep up the illusion that there is much to find out of the Islamic morass that is worthwhile. The "cultural" take actually requires what Noam Chomsky calls the "Manufacturing of Consent" in that it has to be constantly reinforced ad nauseum. They may not like that but it does show up in the mob mentality that rears it's ugly head in various threads on those forums. It is a part of the allure that gets confused with "beauty" and it has worked wonders in various parts of the world. It allows for an escape from freedom and the responsibilities that come with it as described by such people as Erich Fromm. This, in turn, inevitably leads to taking on ever increasingly authoritarian stances in order to have their cake and eat it too. The thing is is that the cake is laced with gravel and no amount of near beer is going to wash it down and that is the price of maintaining a false consciousness. They aren't alone in this and that's why it is no accident that guys like Q-man have gravitated to those forums. There are plenty of people like him who cannot bear to have their worldviews crash in the face of hard evidence and will absolutely refuse to face up to the fact that they are wrong.
