Hi Garudaman, It is a bit odd to talk such a lot about Christmas in May, but hey, that how this forum goes sometimes.
There is no really difference between "Happy Christmas" and "Merry Christmas". People use both interchangeably. Strictly, "merry" means a joyful, social occasion.
Happy Christmas

May be there is pun about mother Mary when Christian greets Merry Xmas!No mother Mary no Xmas.

Same way happy birthday rhymes better than merry birthday.

According to what they have shown on T.V,Kerala one of the Southern states is given back just 25% of what the Central govt in India collects as taxes from that state.Similarly Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are given aroung 45% and 40% back for the upkeep of state treasuries. The figure was 67% in case of United and undivided Andhra Pradesh(this figure for the then A.P is somewhat reasonable). Now if such discrimination is instated, can one really find fault with those who convert out of Hinduism in those states for the sake of feeding their children or in life threatening situations? Can one call such a thing as prostitution? When you find out that people love your money more than you, then levels of attachment will naturally decrease.
Ah, the rich man's curse.... does she love me or my bank account? There are similar curses to that, so rich people are not the only ones with problems like that. "Does he love me or my body?" is another one...
Personally if I were put in God's shoes,I would ensure that the prosperity of a region is maintained at a high level only so long as there is religious freedom. That once again also implies that once Hindus are completely made extinct/reduced by significant number by either of main Abrahamic faith ones, without being allowed to follow their age old good traditions by their own free-will,the prosperity of that land along with the lands of those who abet such an ill-will should go. Thats it.

palli or halli in Dravidian languages means a village just like gaav in Aryan languages means a village.palli or halli in Aryan Mauryan Imperial era around 200 B.C designates a tribal hamlet. So many of those in South India are indeed descendants of tribals and are still keeping up that heritage.

People have commented in this thread even in May. So I am not the only one you should target sarcastically. Anyway having seen how some North Indian states get around 125 percent of what they give to the Central govt in taxes, I will not oppose those who are taxed excessively from wishing you a Merry Christmas.manfred wrote:... and happy Christmas to you too... in June....

NS, you comment has nothing at all to do with the quote you gave nor with Christmas. I would be grateful if you could at least try to stick generally to topics (sure these do develop a life of their own some times), of else start a new topic.
And don't act the victim. You have been here long enough to know the general etiquette, but you are ALWAYS ignoring that.

Re: Happy Christmas
People have discussed how Christmas greetings must be delivered in a politically correct way to people like me whom in their view do not like Christianity. I only said that I absolutely have no compunctions in wishing 'Merry Christmas ' in the most politically incorrect way as their own people are right now extorting them as had happened in case of both the Muslim and British rules in the subcontinent.manfred wrote:NS, you comment has nothing at all to do with the quote you gave nor with Christmas.
