the seasons explained

Postby manfred » Sun Jan 15, 2017 2:46 pm

Sahih al-Bukhari 3260:

Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allah’s Messenger said, “The (Hell) Fire complained to its Lord saying, ‘O my Lord! My different parts eat up each other.’ So, He allowed it to take two breaths, one in the winter and the other in summer, and this is the reason for the severe heat and the bitter cold you find (in weather).”

You have to hand it to old Mo, he can tell yarns as good as JK Rawling...

I would have enjoyed sitting by the fire side with some tea listening to Mohammed's yarns...

But is a a man rivalling in his story telling the inventors of 1001 nights also a good source for religious inspiration?
Jesus: "Ask and you will receive." Mohammed: "Take and give me 20%"

I don't know about rivalling - surpassing those people as a collector of stories, perhaps?

It's a false hadith. :*)

Perhaps we should leave you and ISLAM_fools to argue it out between you. You can't both be right: which of you is being more sinful, the one denying the words of your prophet or the one believing falsehoods of him?

SAM, first you say it is a "false" hadith, even though sahih, then you agree with your side-kick who says it is true and has some hidden meaning...

You need to decide which position you want to take, as you cannot hold both at the same time.

Did Mohammed say this or not? If yes, then what did he try to say? Don't try the usual cop-outs. If no, why do scholars roundly disagree and class it as sahih?

It is kind of pathetic to read when you are presented with a saying of Mohammed, just as it was reported and handed down, you call those stupid who show it to you, instead of looking at what it says and discuss it.

I agreed ISLAM_rules said that Kafirum are stupid.

abinaya said, "i reject some hadiths, and not others even through they are designated as Sahih, as long as not break six main rules of faith,"

Hadiths 3260 is not related to the Quran.

And SAM, we went over that too... Let me help you... these "rules of faith" are based on/ taken from what exactly? Have you already forgotten? Who put these rules together, SAM? Is it not the same people who tell you which hadith are real hadith?

We went over "punishment in the grave" and "angels", as an example, as they are mentioned in these "rules", and we looked at the foundations and sources these ideas come from. We found hadith.

So I must ask you again SAM, if you arbitrarily accept and reject sources about Mohammed and his saying/actions which kind of Mohammed are actually left with? The real one or the one you always wanted?

Do you want to believe in the Mohammed as he really was or merely the one you create for yourself?

But your religion holds that all babies are born Muslim, so those people must have been born as stupid Muslims according to you.

Is irrational fear your only argument, SAM, just as Mohammed's?

I am old and I have been near death more than once. I do not fear death, he is like an old friend, and to die is the last thing all of us do in life, even you SAM. To me every day is a precious, wonderful gift I do not deserve, but I was given none the less. So when death comes I shall welcome it. And I do not believe in a God who eternally punishes people purely on the basis of honestly held beliefs.

No neither your threats of hell nor Mohammed's have any power over me. They sound pathetic and stupid, a vain attempt to abuse God to control man.

Hmmm. Being born as stupid Muslims, their stupidity moved them to abandon Islam? But your religion holds that everything is pre-ordained by Allah. So your Allah had women give birth to stupid Muslim babies and Allah then took advantage of their stupidity to lead them astray. Finally many years later Allah cast them into the flames because he'd driven them to apostasy. Charming.
Maybe though, some stayed as stupid Muslims, and were prevented by Allah from seeing through clouds of inconsistencies.

What's up, does the truth hurt? Is not everything pre-ordained by Allah? Please show me that that is wrong.

Tell me, on the verge of death what will you do? And what happens after your death?

Hello SAM

Have you ever had a general anaesthetic? When you are rendered insensible with no conscious or active mind at all then that is what I believe that death will be like.

"You", as a person, iare purely the product of your brain. When the brain dies "You" die and there is nothing to follow. Oblivion.
