Greeting fellow FFIiersGreetings ....and hello world .
I am new here . So before I open up to you guys ... I need to know if my I.D(real) is safe with ffi or not? I really wouldn't want to be hacked to death . So can I post in the testimonies forum with a fair sense of security?
Re: Greeting fellow FFIiersWelcome to FFI.
Whether here on FFI, or anywhere on the Internet you should keep your personal ID secret. It's common sense. "Brother, you can believe in stones, as long as you don’t throw them at me." - Wafa Sultan

Re: Greeting fellow FFIiersI concede that being secretive about your ffi handle is common sense . However that is not the point I was alluding to .
Most if not all websites log traffic and info like ip addresses . If my ip address were to be compromised I very life would be in danger as I am writing from THE KSA .
Re: Greeting fellow FFIiersYour IP address is not compromised rocho. But it is well protected and we don't give your IP to anyone.
If you post your testimonies, take care not to mention things which will give your identity away. Welcome on FFI. Regards. Ariel.
Re: Greeting fellow FFIiersHi rocho - welcome!
I can understand your concerns about privacy. The mods here may be able to suggest things too. One option is to use a proxy-server. This one here - proxify.com - has been around for ages and is well-regarded. It will hide your IP address. http://proxify.com/ Try this - this may convince you. Do a Google search for "Shields Up" - that is a very-well-known site run by Gibson Research which allows you to test your security online. I use it all the time. Searching for that give me this URL - https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 Now, go to the Proxify site above, and type in the grc address. You will see a page of text pop up. It has a "proceed button" (don't press that) and below that is this text - (start quote) Your Internet connection has no Reverse DNS Many Internet connection IP addresses are associated with a DNS machine name. (But yours is not.) The presence of "Reverse DNS", which allows the machine name to be retrieved from the IP address, can represent a privacy and possible security concern for Internet consumers since it may uniquely and persistently identify your Internet account — and therefore you — and may disclose other information, such as your geographic location. When present, reverse DNS is supported by Internet service providers. But no such lookups are possible with your current Internet connection address (aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd). That's generally a good thing. " (end quote) So, to come here using Proxify, you just type http://forum09.faithfreedom.org into the message-window on the Proxify site. I have hidden the IP address Proxify assigned to me above, but **if that IP address is different to your normal one**, then the proxy is working, and you're as safe as it is possible to be on the 'net. Re: Greeting fellow FFIiersWow encepladus .
Everything makes sense because I had always used proxify and tor button for abovetopsecret.com However that was when I had my laptop . Don't fret as I will soon be united with my laptop . I always used the tor relay ( www.torproject.org) as a sureshot way to anonimize my conn. I now used an android based handheld device to surf ffi and google latitude tracks even my location ( now disabled)...creepy Basically tor is a vpn tunnel sortoff. So I guess I am now going to post my testimony.
Re: Greeting fellow FFIiersOk..... glad that I was able to help out.....
Using as many tools as you can would be a good approach, I imagine. I've heard of Tor, but haven't used it. I imagine it'd probably work with a proxy like the one I mentioned. - enceladus “Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth.”

31st October 1974? Does it mean anything for you, roncho? It could be a clue for others. Be safe, be secure. "Brother, you can believe in stones, as long as you don’t throw them at me." - Wafa Sultan

Hi again - That's good then! That was just a good and well-meaning comment from pr126 about security - he meant no harm. Enjoy your time here! - enceladus “Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth.”
