In my childhood,my father used to tell me what his father,i.e my grandfather on my father's side used to say about getting a government job.His father supposedly said that it must he written in one's destiny/one must have enough pious merit in order to get a government job which is permanent. So the deduction is that if you have a lot of pious merit only would you be wealthy enough or lucky enough in life.Perhaps his father was referring to the fact that only 1 of his 5 children got the govt job.Now I wonder how many millions of people would have satisfied themselves that they did not have enough good karma to be wealthy in life or to be successful in life. The sheer number of people who might not have put in their best efforts simply baffles me.So religion/these Godmen/Godwomen will only prevent people from reaching their true potential.Perhaps that is what for they are used.

If it is not a religious obligation, why is it that South Indian Christian women cover up their hair during the mass?South Indian women are never known to cover up their hair. That habit exists in North India where Muslims lorded over for much longer periods. After Reformation, even the urban North Indian Hindu women do not cover their hair. Also worth noting that nuns in Christian monastaries do cover up their hair and sometimes wear veil like gowns.Even when Melania Trump visited the Pope in Rome, she wore a headscarf. Also in the Western serial, the Vikings which I used to watch regularly, medieval Christian women of England are potrayed as wearing a head scarf.I personally never knew until recently that men get attracted more so to women with thicker hair.

It is obviously NOT a religious obligation, as in some cultures people do it and in others they do not, at some times they did and at other they did not, all attending the same religion services.

As to the "veil" of the nun, that is part of a nun's HABIT, a kind of uniform to make people see at a glance they are nuns. Not all nuns even wear habits, some orders do not have one, and others allow members to decide if they want to wear it outside the convent.

As to Melania Trump, do you think the pope cares what she wears and she would not be allowed to see him without something on her head?

There is NOTHING at all in Christian sources or writings demanding a woman to wear a headscarf. So some do, some don't, whatever they choose.

By contrast, the "dress code" for a Muslim woman is laid down in sharia, and if a a Muslim woman in a Muslim country does not follow it, there are serious consequences.
