People say modern slaves are not chains but are nevertheless enchained by debts.

Indeed they may.

So, some people still believes slavery exists even today.

Actual bona fide slavery where human beings are bought and sold, transported and used as unpaid captive labor or for sexual purposes is rampant today. For example the old Islamic slave markets are back with a vengeance in Libya

From that point of view there might exist willing castrated slaves or zombies who still want to live for the little joys of life.So their haemorrages might get healed by the crude medicine systems prevalent upto the 1960s and they might still want to live and would have been able to live just as had happened in case of the Hindu Kush mountain range massacres.However,there is no way an anemic pregnant woman has even that much of a chance of life.From that point of view slavery seems not to be as much worse as lack of proper food and health care.

I can envisage situations where a slave may be better fed and better housed than a notionally "free" person living a life of exploitation, hunger and squalor from which they have no realistic chance of escape. For example a "well-treated" black domestic slave on a southern US plantation compared to a hungry homeless black man in modern-day LA. Do you like that example? Or would you prefer a comparison between a poor filipina woman scrabbling on a garbage heap for things to sell and the female harem sex slave of a historical Islamic ruler?

You are not in some way trying to defend Islamic slavery are you?

In Islamic slavery, past and present, a slave is regarded as property owned by someone. The "social slavery" that you you mention is not the same. The man might be destitute but what he has is his own property that might, admittedly, later become owned by someone else but not the man himself because he is not property. He is free to conduct himself as he can but NOT as a slave.

The term "wage slavery" was coined for good reason. It refers to theoreticaly "free" workers under capitalism whose working and living conditions and effective freedom of movement is indistinguishable from that of slaves. Indeed, if such workers really had a choice to move to something better then capitalism could not function. A western unemployed recipient of socialistic state benefits, despite their supposed "dependence", clearly has more freedom than a Chinese wage slave in an Apple factory who chucks himself out of a window because suicide is the only escape from his life of de facto bondage that the "free" market has dumped him in.

Slavery has been practiced in all cultures throughout the centuries,and has since been abolished and outlawed in many countries of the world,except Islamic ones.

The prophet of Islam Mohammed bought, owned and traded slaves, and becasue his example is viewed as exemplary to all Muslims for all times and places,precisely because he obeyed the Islamic god Allah in all things Islamic,slavery is justified in Islam TODAY.

There came a slave and pledged allegiance to Allah's Apostle (peace_be_upon_him) on migration; he (the Prophet) did not know that he was a slave. Then there came his master and demanded him back, whereupon Allah's Apostle (peace_be_upon_him) said: Sell him to me. And he bought him for two black slaves, and he did not afterwards take allegiance from anyone until he had asked him whether he was a slave (or a free man).

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 91, Number 368:
Narrated 'Umar:
I came and behold, Allah's Apostle was staying on a Mashroba (attic room) and a black slave of Allah's Apostle was at the top if its stairs. I said to him, "(Tell the Prophet) that here is 'Umar bin Al-Khattab (asking for permission to enter)." Then he admitted me. ... (cf. Bukhari 3.648, 6.435, 7.119)

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah's Apostle was on a journey and he had a black slave called Anjasha, and he was driving the camels (very fast, and there were women riding on those camels). Allah's Apostle said, "Waihaka (May Allah be merciful to you), O Anjasha! Drive slowly (the camels) with the glass vessels (women)!"
