German police have detained a suspect with "Islamist links" following a bomb attack on the bus of the Borussia Dortmund football team.
Prosecutors also said the three explosive devices contained metal pieces.
Two letters claiming the attack on Tuesday evening were being investigated, they said.
Prosecutors are treating the blasts as a terrorist attack but say the precise motive is unclear at present.
Quran (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority".
Quran (4:95) - "Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame, etc.), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home).Unto each, Allah has promised good (Paradise), but Allah has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward "
Cologne to Protect Iconic Cathedral from Terror with Concrete Blocks
The German city of Cologne is putting up heavy stone blocks around its famous cathedral to protect the landmark building and its visitors from potential terror attacks.
Cologne Police president Uwe Jacob said Wednesday the city was increasing its security in reaction to vehicle attacks in Barcelona and a nearby seaside Spanish town last week.
The German news agency dpa reported that the stone blocks, which are several hundred kilograms (pounds) heavy, are discarded parts of the cathedral. They will be used to block the entrance to the big square in front of the cathedral.
Germany has suffered several terror attacks last year, including a truck attack in Berlin in December in which the driver ran the vehicle into a Christmas market, killing 12 people.
Asylum seekers from Syria, Iraq and other war-torn states who are registered as refugees and receive social benefits in Germany do not hesitate to opt for a “vacation” in their war-ravaged countries, a German media report has discovered.
The information was unveiled by the outlet Die Welt am Sonntag, citing its own investigation. The inquiry included testimonies from registered asylum seekers in Germany who are entitled to so-called HARTZ-IV social benefits. Some of them confirmed to the newspaper that they “traveled for a short period of time back to countries like Syria, Afghanistan or Lebanon.”

I wonder if he could be from Bosnia, possibly?

Yes...So true, Yet.... Like in Holland where a so called social liberal party ( D66) is doing its utmost to promote euthanasia. They call it " A completed life" . Anyone, if you are sick, or healthy but over 75, you can end your life.
I am of the opinion that anyone who vote for this party MUST end his/her life at 75, and their possessions and money must be given to islamic asylum seekers, and not to their children.
D66 is a convinced advocate of bringing in many, many more asylum seekers. Preferable islamic asylum seekers.
A Cologne mayor has accused the city's police of 'giving up control' of a town square frequented by drug dealers.
The critique came after a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in a gang fight between African migrants on Ebertplatz in Cologne's central Innenstadt district.
Andreas Hupke, mayor of Innenstadt, said police had been focusing on Cologne's central station, where mass sexual assaults took place on New Year's Eve 2015, leaving criminals to take over other parts of the city centre.
'It can't go on like this. Ebertplatz has been a trouble spot for a long time. The most recent incidents are a horrible proof of what the police have been saying - they can't solve this problem alone,' Mr Hupke said according to The Local.
Mr Hupke, a Green Party politician, added that police had 'given up control of Ebertplatz', a square infamous for drug dealing.
Police report that the area is frequented in particular by young men, and many of non-German background.
Local newspaper The Express reports that frequenters are 'young men from north and sub-Saharan Africa [...] some drug dealers are travelling there from asylum shelters from across the country'.
Police have referred to the square as an 'Angstraum' a term which literally translates to 'fear room'.
The term is used to describe an urban space where there is a feeling of being under threat or risk of being a victim of a crime, such as dark underpasses or unsupervised carparks.
The man who was stabbed to death on Eberplatz on Saturday was a 22-year-old African migrant.
And they've just re-elected the woman who enabled it. Clearly it is what Germans want.
Germany: Migrants turn part of Cologne into ‘no-go zone’. Mayor admits police have given up on the area
German quality newspaper “Die Welt” published an article about a “no go-zone” in the centre of Cologne. Is it really that bad? When Cologne’s mayor says “police have given up on the area”, the answer is probably yes.
We’re talking about the “Ebertplatz” here, an inner city square at the heart of Cologne that connects several streets. According to German newspaper “Express” the place is a popular location for African migrants who live nearby to deal drugs. The police call it a hotbed of crime as several police interventions didn’t change a thing. Some of Cologne’s inhabitants even call it an “angstraum”, a fearful place.
A week ago a young African man was stabbed to death at the place by fellow Africans. Earlier a TV-production had to be cancelled because the crew was threatened by drug dealers. One of Sony’s producers said that “young girls were especially scared and serious threats were disrupting the scenes”.
People who live nearby want politicians to take action as the situation is spiralling out of control. But politicians don’t seem to have a real solution. The mayor of the left-wing Green party says that “this has to stop as the place is a criminal hotspot”. But he adds that “the problems are impossible to be solved by police alone”. After Cologne’s large-scale sex attacks during New Year’s Eve 2015 the mayor thinks the police are focusing on the central station and “have already given up on the Ebertplatz”.
After the influx of more than a million migrants Germany’s big cities have serious problems with controlling migrant crime. Earlier we wrote an alarming report about the situation in Germany’s crime-ridden capital Berlin.
