Why Europe Still Doesn't Get Islam
Re: Why Europe Still Doesn't Get IslamWonderfully said.
We have reason to hope that leaders in Europe, and in America, are now seeing that apologist leaders can be debated head-on in the court of public opinion. I see a massive international up swelling of support for Geert Wilders, and soon others like him. I also believe that effort behind putting a mosque at ground zero was more than just a news story, it was a cathartic wake up call...and not just for me! For me, as the ground-zero story unfolded, profoundly strong emotions began to flood out from the depths of my soul. The power of these feelings has neither past nor abated. I seem to have become fueled by an unseen force to take intense and purposeful action. I felt compelled to finally read the Quran. The book is so filled with hate and totalitarian purpose, that I could not believe that any good person on the planet could use this book to guide their life. I soon came to understood that my soul had transformed me not into an activist, but into a revolutionary! Al Hope Al Hope

Re: Why Europe Still Doesn't Get IslamFrom the article
One cannot ignore the inevitable for long, only become numbed to it. That is the cooked lobster effect. This is very true. Last night, after dinner at home I took 4 German visitors for a super ice cream and then on a stroll to St. Peter's Square. Swarming with cops, the Piazza was closed off. When I first came, the place was rather scandously a parking lot, wide open, day and night. ![]() Now it's a military zone. One cop was sorta half willing to let me in, but a higher ranking colleague was very curt both to him and to us. "Out! Out! - Closed!" Fear of terrorism. Bombs. Al Quaeda. Al Shabaz Mohammad bin Shabam Kaboom din Abdul Kapowee. Muslims. Religious Muslims. And you just get used to it. No big deal, right? What happens? A place like St. Peter's once truly belonged to the Romans, to the people. Now it belongs to those who would wish to destroy it and those who would wish to protect it. It becomes an "object"... it gets pulled out of the familiar and easy-going context. It's not the same. Sure, during the day, they'll let us in through their heavily controlled access points. Some will get frisked, other will have to go through metal detectors and then once in, you can forget about all the nasty stuff and concentrate on Michelangelo and Bramante or finding the spot where all the columns line up. But it's just not the same. Like air travel is not the same. There's the constant worry, the constant presence of threat. An almost entirely Islamic threat. “The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer - German Lutheran Pastor and Theologian. His involvement in a plot to overthrow Adolf Hitler led to his imprisonment and execution. 1906-1945
Re: Why Europe Still Doesn't Get Islam
What bother me most is that Europe gives that finger or this hand freely, even if Muslims have not asked for it. They do it out of free will to accommodate Muslims. “They have a right to it .“ The lefties say. “We should respect their feelings “ they croon. Let see how thing are in Holland. Schools ban the Christmas trees. In some towns the cross of the mitre of Saint Nicolas is removed. Ramadan parties are being organised. Geert Wilders is brought up for trial. Special counters are being opened in town houses for Moslima’s so that they do not have to speak to men or being bothered by the infidel. A Christian bus driver is not allowed to wear a cross on his uniform, while Moslima’s are allowed to wear a headscarf.. And all this because we should respect the feelings of Muslims and their religion. And.... some people are afraid, therefore they think we should not provoke Muslims. I heard a member of the Christen democrat say on the national television that because of what Geert Wilders says about Islam, Al Qaida is angry and not amused ,and has threatened to learn us a lesson, so we better mind our words. I hate this kind of Christian cowards, like I also hate all those stupid lefties who think Islam belongs to Europe now. These kind of people are threat for Europe too.

So do I! Nothing has ever been gained by appeasement.
Agreed. They are as much "the enemy" as Islam itself is. At least it is good that in the last few days even Angela Merkel has spoken out, saying that in Germany "multiculturalism" has been an absolute failure. Whether she really means that, or whether it is just a sound-bite to get attention, I'm not sure. Anyway, it is very good to see that. - enceladus “Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth.”
- Albert Einstein “Most of the greatest evils that man has inflicted upon man have come through people feeling quite certain about something which, in fact, was false.” - Bertrand Russell
