Ahhh the victim card. Blame Boris Johnson for the many deaths.
But...could it be that the BAME community didn't follow the instructions ?
Sadiq Khan blames racism for ethnic minority virus deaths

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has condemned what he called ‘structural racism’ for causing a large chunk of the deaths in Britain from the coronavirus from the BAME community.

In a piece he wrote for The Guardian, he argued that the suggestion that the crisis was a ‘great leveller’ is a ‘complete myth’, on the grounds that the virus is infecting BAME people disproportionality’.

He blamed the poor ‘socioeconomic’ conditions for why many BAME people are catching the virus, and concluded that ‘it’s by no means a revelation’ that such a ‘link’ existed, Policalite reports.

While thanking the government for launching a review into this matter, he felt that it wasn’t enough; saying that data on the demographics of the victims of the virus, would ‘help bring the true scale of the problem to life’.

He also blamed employment issues for the virus’ spread in the community, mainly those of ‘insecure, low-paid’ origin. Finally, he called for a ‘new social contract that advances the twin causes of racial and economic equality’, calling it the ‘most fitting tribute we could pay to all the courageous people who have lost their lives on the frontline of this battle’.

The Labour Party is also examining this issue, calling for an inquiry on the subject matter.

Khan has been severely criticised for his response to the virus, which many have called inadequate, no more so than his Conservative challenger for the title in next year’s London Mayoral election Shaun Bailey. Khan has held the office since 2016, taking over from Conservative Boris Johnson.

Black people are more likely to die from the virus, with Doctor John Campbell telling Politicalite that since the start of the pandemic people with darker skin have immune systems that are depleted because the sun where we get vitamin D from is harder to be processed into the body.

He recommends all year-round supplements should be taken by ethnic people, with white skinned only during winter months, especially north of the equator, as in the UK we just do not get enough sunlight.

Swedish academic argues virus will end the EU, globalism, and mass migration

In a recent video by SwebbTV, Swedish engineer, doctor of technology, business leader, and writer Lars Bern talks about the coronavirus and its impact on the world.

He explains that the main problem is not that SARS-CoV-2 is deadlier than other viruses, but that it’s new and incredibly contagious.

When the virus began spreading no one was immune to it, and as a result many became infected. However, for Bern, the mortality rate of COVID-19 is not any higher than that which is seen in the normal flu. Thus, the main purpose of the lockdowns and social distancing measures is to prevent hospitals from being overrun with patients.

Bern believes that the higher incidence of metabolic syndrome a county has the higher its death rate will be. However, Bern does not believe that a vaccine will help much, partly because it will take years to produce one, and partly because the virus will have most likely mutated before it’s released on the market. According to Bern, treating COVID-19 patients with malaria and Ebola medicine along with large doses of vitamins and minerals is more effective.

Bill Gates’ “wet dream” to vaccinate every person on the planet and issue digital vaccine certificates will not come true, Bern argues.

The so-called medical experts aren’t really experts, he says. SARS-CoV-2 is a new strain of virus and the truth is that no one knows the best way to deal with it. We can only look at what treatment methods have been effective and go from there. According to Bern, medical doctors who argue against the use of alternative medicine to treat and prevent the virus typically know very little about the methods in question and/or the vitamins and minerals used.

Bern argues that the same can be said for the economic experts who are interviewed daily. None of them know what will happen, they can only speculate.

He then goes on to talk about globalism, which in his opinion will end in its current form as a result of the virus. Bern argues that nationalism will replace globalism and that borders will remain closed, mass migration will stop, and countries will begin to put the needs of their own citizens first.

We’re already seeing this in Europe. The EU has handled the crisis badly by any standard. Bern says that the EU most likely will collapse as a result of its failing to help member states during the crisis. That would be a positive development, he says, adding European states should keep trading freely but ditch the rest of what the EU stands for.

Bern argues that mass migration will become impossible after the crisis since no country will be able to afford it. It will be out of the question to even suggest it for many years to come, he says, adding that every dime will be spent on rebuilding our national economies, strengthening our health systems, and on future emergency preparedness.

As for the global economy, oil-dependent countries will suffer the most. And the turbulence on the oil market will lead to instability in the Middle East, which may lead to conflicts that could very well lead to war.
It will take many years for the world to recover from the coronavirus crisis, and the situation will get much worse before it gets better, he concludes.
However, for Bern, the mortality rate of COVID-19 is not any higher than that which is seen in the normal flu. Thus, the main purpose of the lockdowns and social distancing measures is to prevent hospitals from being overrun with patients.
I Don't agree with this Swedish engineer. I hope he is right about the EU, but he not with right about the COVID-19. In my whole life I have never heard that nurses , doctors and other hospital staf got sick and died, while taking care of normal flu patients.

It looks as if the impact of the virus is much worse in Belgium than in the Netherlands... Is this because of different way of counting/testing or is there another reason?

GPs in the Netherlands have devised a system to count the “hidden” corona deaths in the Netherlands. RIVM only reports the deaths of those who have been tested and officially diagnosed with coronavirus, but many more people suffer from the virus and die as a result.

There are a huge number of patients at home and in care centres that are clinically highly suspected to have coronavirus, but are not being tested because hospitalisation no longer makes sense. These people don't exist in statistics.

You can double the corona deaths in Holland. The death toll is now 4566. So if you double that... :(

Environmental crime: Spanish town sparks row after spraying beach with bleach to fight virus

A Cadiz town is mired in controversy over the fumigation of its beaches with bleach so local children can enjoy them during the deescalation of COVID-19 lockdown measures.

Image

The decision was taken jointly by the Neighborhood Board of Zahara de los Atunes and Association of Merchants in order to - theoretically - make the area safer for children finally leaving the house after weeks of confinement, but is being called an “environmental crime” by environmental groups.

The move has already been denounced by the Andalusian government and heavily criticised as the bodies responsible lack the authority to make such a decision, and legal action could be on the horizon as it is feared the tractors that went on the beach for fumigation could have damaged local wildlife.
Indeed some tractors have been found to have traces of plover’s eggs, which at this time of the year are in the height of breeding season.

“It seems incredible that these things still happen, a madness against the beach itself" says María Dolores Iglesias, president of the Association of Environmental Volunteers Trafalgar.
She explained that locals only became aware of what she calls the “ecological attack” after a local informed them that the “plovers they were taking care of were being killed by the men with the tractors."

The story quickly circulated on social media and faced with public outrage, the president of the Autonomous Local Entity of Zahara de los Atunes, Agustín Conejo, was forced in a statement to the press in which he said the beach was sprayed with bleach with the intention of protecting children wanting to enjoy the coast, buthe admits that it was wrong thing to do.

Environmentalists are not convinced by this explanation, however, and believe the move could have been economically motivated. The fumigated area was not the town's local urban beach, but two kilometers away from the point where any children would have been using the beach.

Indeed it has emerged that one of the men responsible for the decision, the President of the Merchants Association, is a local hotelier; environmental groups believe the fumigation supposedly on behalf of children was, in fact, an attempt to "try to guarantee that the area is free of covid-19 for the summer” for economic purposes.

The area boasts some of the best wild beaches in Cádiz and faced with both the physical quarantine of COVID-19 and the economic shutdown it has caused, it seems plausible there is more to the fumigation than organisers have revealed.

Good news...And Muslims should stay far from this medicine. It might turn them into Jews...
A significant breakthrough has been achieved in finding an antidote to the Corona virus that attacks the virus and can neutralize it in the sick body

More: According to the Institute's researchers: "The antibody development phase is over. A goal for international companies to produce the antibody in commercial quantities "

The man behind Sweden's no-lockdown approach says the country's high death toll 'really came as a surprise'

Sweden's coronavirus death toll is much higher than neighboring countries

The scientist leading Sweden's coronavirus response said recently that the country's high death toll was not a part of the no-lockdown trade-off and that it "came as a surprise."

Dr. Anders Tegnell, Sweden's state epidemiologist, told "The Daily Show" host Trevor Noah on Tuesday that in choosing a less restrictive response to the virus, officials "never really calculated with a high death toll."

"We calculated on more people being sick, but the death toll really came as a surprise to us," he said.

Sweden's death toll as of Wednesday was reported to be more than 2,900, which is much higher than that of neighboring countries such as Norway, Finland, and Denmark.

Tegnell still argued that the country's controversial approach — which avoided shutting down businesses and schools and didn't implement shelter-in-place orders for residents — has still been successful in other ways, such as allowing the health system to continue functioning as usual. He also said that outside of Stockholm, the country's largest population area, the outbreak has been minimal.

Though he acknowledged: "I am not saying we are successful in all different ways. I mean our death toll is really something we worry a lot about."

The death toll is linked to nursing homes
Like many places in Europe and around the world, Sweden has experienced a significant number of deaths in connection to nursing homes and other long-term care facilities. The result comes even as Sweden has banned visits to such homes.

"It's very difficult to keep the disease away from there," he told Noah. "Even if we are doing our best, it's obviously not enough."

The Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter reported this week that at least 541 nursing homes across the country have had at least one case of the coronavirus. According to Forbes, the Swedish Health Agency is investigating the matter.

"We really thought our elderly homes would be much better at keeping this disease outside of them than they have actually been," Tegnell said.

Sweden's coronavirus response hinged on the goal of reaching some level of herd immunity in the country so that the spread could be slowed and the disease could be managed moving forward.

What else can one expect from an epidemiologist? That's pseudoscience - the 'science' that thinks that viruses or diseases behave like mathematical curves and patterns.

Well, there is, within reason, a way mathematics can be used to work out how an outbreak will develop. It is never totally accurate, but you can get a general picture. Some time ago (and BEFORE the date) I suggested in this thread that in the UK the peak will be reached on the 22 April, using a model I set up in excel. It turned out to be the 23rd or 24th, so the model was not totally wrong. And I sure others can do a much better model than me.

However, I do agree, to be surprised by the figures is Sweden is not credible. In fact Sweden has got off lightly, I think. The measures of the other countries reduced travel, and Sweden is quite thinly populated, compared to, say, the Netherlands. Also in Sweden, they have not reached the peak yet, and new cases are at 3% and still rising. The only thing that keeps figures a little lower is that most cases are concentrated round Stockholm, and less so in Malmo. In the North, cases are still quite rare.

We also have an of course much better method than mathematics to determine when the coronavirus will be over: The 19th May, according good old prophet Mohammed. Diseases will be lifted from ALL the people with the rise of the Pleiades. It's all in the stars. And Allah knows best....
“Ahmad bin Daud told us. He said: Ismail bin Salim told us that he said: Muhammad bin Hassan told us that he said: Abu Hanifah told us that he said: Atha’ bin Abi Rabah told us that Abu Hurairah RA said that the Prophet PBUH said: When a star appears, then a disease will be lifted from all people of the country.
The star is thurayya (Pleiades). It appears in the morning of the start of summer when it is extremely hot in Hijaz.” (Refer Fath Al-Bari Syarh Sahih Al-Bukhari, 8/32).

Sure but this methodology could for instance also be used to predict the spread of juicy gossip by analyzing the same social networks or travel patterns. It doesn't explain why it was launched or by who as epidemiology can't tell us when the next virus outbreak will appear or what its impact will be. So I rather have other specialists do the math. The Swedish example demonstrates that epidemiology has not yet established a baseline which comes as no surprise as many books have been written about it flaws. So why not hire mathematicians to manage the public health sector? I don't see the need for epidemiologists.

No muslim is allowed to kiss the black stone because of the corona, but still, 5 time a day it is being cleaned .
Coronavirus: Islam’s Holy Kaaba, black stone cleaned, perfumed five times a day

Image

Islam’s holiest site is being cleaned and perfumed, despite being virtually empty due to measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia.

Incense and bukhoor are being used on the Holy Kaaba and its black stone, according to the presidency, which tweeted pictures of the process.

Prayer halls in the Grand Mosque are also being perfumed with bukhoor around the clock, while the black stone is rubbed with oud five times each day.

Oud, known in English as agarwood, originates from the barks of trees that only grow in parts of South East Asia.

For thousands of years, it has been used in the Middle East and Asia in the form of wooden incense chips, body oils, and fragrances, and has become synonymous with hospitality in the Arabian Peninsula.

Cafe customers must wear pool noodle hats to make sure they socially distance

A German cafe, Cafe & Konditorei Rothe, asked customers to wear hats with pool noodles taped to them to ensure they stick to social distancing measures - but it has divided opinions

A German cafe has encouraged customers to keep in line with social distancing rules by asking them to wear hats with pool noodles attached to them.

Cafe & Konditorei Rothe in Schwerin, Germany introduced the unique idea as a way to attempt to make sure that customers stay two metres from each other.

In a snap the cafe shared to its Facebook page, customers sat looked pretty relaxed as they enjoyed their coffees, cakes and wine wearing hats with swimming pool noodles stuck to the top of it in various directions.

Since the idea was posted online it has been praised by many - but a few people aren't so sure.

Katy Lee, the journalist who tweeted the picture of the cafe, wrote: "Oh my god, this is amazing", and added: "Zero shame attached to it."

One person replied: "Zero shame? Hahaha... they are wearing pool noodles... on their heads.... taped to a hat haha."

Imperial College model Britain used to justify lockdown in US and Uk a 'buggy mess', 'totally unreliable', experts claim.

Image
Neil Ferguson

Experts have derided the coding from Professor Neil Ferguson, warning that it is a “buggy mess that looks more like a bowl of angel hair pasta than a finely tuned piece of programming.” “In our commercial reality, we would fire anyone for developing code like this and any business that relied on it to produce software for sale would likely go bust,” David Richards, co-founder of British data technology company WANdisco, told the Daily Telegraph. The code, written by Professor Neil Ferguson and his team at Imperial College London, was impossible to read, scientists claim.

Ferguson himself resigned from his advisory role earlier this month after reports emerged that he defied his own lockdown advice by letting his married lover visit him on two occasions.
