Gutmensch (literally good human in German) is an ironic, sarcastic or disparaging cultural term similar to "do-gooder". Those who use the term are implying that Gutmenschen have an overwhelming wish to be good and eagerly seek approval. Further suggesting a supposed moralising and proselytising behaviour and being dogmatic.

Here we have a Gutmensch from Ireland . The mother of that girl should be in jail too.
Ireland: African man jailed for sexual abuse of intellectually disabled girl – victim’s mother, who was in relationship with the accused, asked that he not be jailed

A man who sexually abused the intellectually disabled daughter of his former partner has been jailed for 13 years, the Irish Times reports.

The sentencing judge noted the mother of the child felt under intense social pressure within her community in Ireland and abroad and had expressed a wish that the accused, who is from an African country, not go to prison.

The trial heard evidence that the man was watching television with the child. He pulled her trousers down and raped her and told her repeatedly “I love you”.

The man, who cannot be identified to protect the victim’s identity, was convicted by a Central Criminal Court jury earlier this year of rape, anal rape and sexual assault of the girl at her home in Dublin on dates between April 2015 and September 2016. The victim was aged between 11 and 12 years old at the time of the offending.

The accused maintains his innocence and has given no indication of remorse. The judge said the offending fell into the most serious category. He noted the vulnerability of the victim, the gross abuse of trust and the fact the sexual abuse has long lasting detrimental effects on victims.

He also noted that the child’s mother had been a “reluctant witness” and she did not complete a victim impact statement on behalf of her daughter.

He then said social pressure within ethnic groups could not be a factor in sentencing. He noted a probation report placed the accused man at a high risk of sexual reoffending and said the man needed to gain insight into his offending and control over his sex drive.

The man was sentence to 13 years imprisonment and post release supervision of six years on strict conditions which includes offense focused work, psychological counseling and keeping away from activities with or caring for people aged under 18.

The victim disclosed the abuse to her sister and mother in 2016, shortly after the relationship between her mother and the accused broke down.

The accused used opportunities during visits and overnight stays at the girl’s home to abuse her.

The man, who is the father of a number of children in Ireland and in his home country, has minor previous convictions.

The judge noted the accused was a foreign national but said he had chosen to live in Ireland and was not in the position of being locked up in a foreign land far from family and friends.

To me the "Gutmensch" is generally someone who compulsively "virtue-signals". His/her main aim to TO BE SEEN by others as some kind of "inspiration".

Sad creatures. And at times quite nauseating.

This is a more ridiculous example from Germany:

A woman likes to sit in her own garden and smoke a cigarette. Her husband too.. Their neighbours say they are "molested" by this, got a lawyer and went to court.

First the police came and checked, but found nothing wrong. Then the judge herself came and checked and found nothing wrong either.

Undeterred, the neighbours went to a higher court, and this time the judge tried to be all things to all men...

He ordered that they may not smoke in their own garden between 12 noon and 3pm and again between 6 and 9 pm. If they ignore that 200000 Euros penalty.

However, they neighbours can and do smoke any time. Also any visitors are not bound by the restriction....

Do they have craziness like that in Holland, or is that a more German speciality?

In Holland we have a Gutmensch minister of state who wants to save all the lives of smoking Dutchman. Every soul in Holland must get at least 100 years of age or even older. He hates it that 35.000 people a year are passing away as result of smoking, alcohol or being overweight.

So, he wants to make the price of a packet of cigarettes 20 Euro or more.

I have ( yet) not heard about a story of neighbours fighting in court about smoking . But..wat niet is kan komen...
In Holland we have many, many good doers.

More than we need...
