A 12-year-old boy, who has been accused of trying to rip the head scarf off of a Muslim classmate during recess, was arrested at school Wednesday on hate crime charges.

The boy is a sixth grader at the Dreyfus Intermediate School in Staten Island, N.Y. Police charged the boy as a juvenile, reports CBS station WCBS.

Police and school officials say the boy has a history of harassing the girl, taunting her and threatening her on at least four separate occasions.

Dad says boy, 12, charged with hate crime is Muslim too

The Staten Island terror charged with viciously bashing a young female middle-school classmate while demanding to know "Are you a Muslim?" is himself the son of a Muslim woman, his dad revealed today.

"How could a Muslim have another hate crime against a Muslim?" asked Frank Davies, 32, about his son Osman Daramay.

Davies added that while the family does not regularly attend a mosque, they pray at home, and that Osman joins in those Islamic prayers with his Muslim mom, Agnes Daramay.

A woman who identified herself to The Post as Osman's mother last night said, "I know my son is a good boy. He's a kid, he made a mistake.

Stand down, no hate crime has been committed. The boy himself is a Muslim. Muslims don't do hate crimes.

The prosecutor, Teresa Wilson, argued for remand, saying "the defendant is a public safety risk" and was likely to engage in future acts of delinquency, based on his recent record.

That recent record included an unspecified robbery in which physical force was used that took place on Feb. 3.

He was also cited for three school suspensions, one as early as March 10.

The judge remanded the boy and set an April 5 date for the next hearing.

Sounds like a winner of a case and a winner of a kid. Whooooooeeeee. Parents should win mom and dad of the year too, while they're at it. Any kid who can get away with that much sh*t, either their parents know about it and don't care, or are so lost in their own world that they're nigh unfit to be parents.

Hate crime, schmate crime.... kid's just a butthole who needs a few days in juvie to show him just how bad things can get when he acts out. And I wish there was some way to bring the parents into this too, but that would be a nightmare of a case or two.
