Is it a habit of atheists to rely on Christianity when arguing against the Gods found in Hindu mythology.

There is no difference between an atheist and a believer in Hinduism. They both can be fanatic Hindus. Actually a God believing Hindu is a more tolerant. Hinduism is defined more by a way of life such as caste system, chauvinism and so on, and not necessarily by belief in any God. The thought that all humans are equal is unnatural for Hindus. Any religion which believes in equality among human beings and sees God in each of them is considered as an intrusion or an assault by Hindus. Such threats have to removed. I use them but I cant give any justification why I use them but not eat meat but still I aint a believer in hinduism.

There are other beliefs of hindus which I dont hold to .I do not visit temples. I dont perform Puja .I dont follow any religious ceremony . I dont follow religious festivals like Gudi Padwa,Makara Sankranti,Vasant Panchami,Maha Shivaratri,Rama Navami,Hanuman Jayanti. To make one a hindu one needs to follow these festivals devotedly. Now there are certain festivals like Diwali ,Raksha Bandhan where I am obliged to follow them since everyone around me does follow them so I cant stand the odd man out . Raksha Bandhan is a way where your sister ties you a rakhi which is a symbol of strengthening the bond between a brother and a sister. I cant hurt sentiments of my sisters and thats why I have to follow them but that doesnt mean I believe in them.I also dont believe in the concept of Karma . I dont believe in Bhagwad Gita , Puranas,Upanishads ,Vedas or Ramayana or Mahabharata .I dont believe in any mythological characters . What else is required to prove that I aint a hindu? Have you killed flies, cocroaches, other house bugs and so on? I bet you did! Your claim of being a vegetarian because of love of animals and has absolutley nothing to do with Hinduism, is just that. Crap! The very fact that you are answerless when asked about using leather products answers everything. In the real world almost all animal rights activists are non-vegetarians, unless one is from Hindu background.

You are a vegetarian because you were brought up in a Hindu Brahmin family with its strict adherence to many Hindu hangups such a vegetarianism.
