Not breaking news - it happened in 2003 - but I've only just noticed tonight's programme
The Murder of Charlene Downes, Tues, Wed, Thurs 21,22,23 May Channel 5 (UK) 9pm (and 10pm on C5+1)
I've no idea what prompted Channel 5 to dig up this allegedly gruesome story after so long, but the blurb for the third part might just be hinting at a whitewash. Of course, the programme may well not include the gruesome claims.
Maybe having the final part in the closing hour of the EU elections might keep the odd person away from voting for the Brexit Party?

Long summary of Tuesday's programme in the Daily Mail
Kebab shop owner who was suspected of disposing of schoolgirl Charlene Downes' body reveals he doesn't care 'whether she's alive or dead' in a shocking new documentary
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-7055205/Kebab-shop-owner-linked-missing-school-girl-says-doesnt-care-shes-alive-dead.html
Some additional information included, with what may be a hint as to what was meant by "rumours about Charlene's home life" and "nothing was what it seemed" in the blurb for the final programme.
