In England, a journalist was landed with £300,000 legal fees after challenging a libel suit over something she said on Twitter.
She was lucky: if she'd been a Pakistani in England and had said something unkind about Mohammed, the Pakistan government would be demanding Twitter (or Facebook) reveal her identity so that they could extradite her, possibly to meet a far worse fate than a huge bill.
Pakistan wants Facebook, Twitter to help it identify users suspected of blasphemy
Pakistan said on Thursday it had asked Facebook and Twitter to help it identify Pakistanis suspected of blasphemy so that it can prosecute them or pursue their extradition.

Under Pakistan's strict blasphemy laws, anyone found to have insulted Islam or the Prophet Muhammad can be sentenced to death.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said an official in Pakistan's Washington embassy had approached the two social media companies in an effort to identify Pakistanis, either within the country or abroad, who recently shared material deemed offensive to Islam.

He said Pakistani authorities had identified 11 people for questioning over alleged blasphemy and would seek the extradition of anyone living abroad.

Such, it would seem, is Pakistan's response to international criticism of its blasphemy laws: extend them outside its territory.

And the BBC jumps into the fray...
Muslim presenter sparks uproar as she asks BBC Asian Network Twitter followers 'what is the right punishment for blasphemy?'
Muslim activist Shazia Awan asked viewers to offer opinions on punishment
She asked: 'What is the right punishment for blasphemy? in online debate
Her assumption that it should be punished sparked outrage from viewers
One viewer wrote: There should be no punishment. It's the 21st century'

The BBC's Asian Network has provoked uproar by asking its Twitter followers 'what is the right punishment for blasphemy?'
A video posted on its account shows Muslim activist Shazia Awan asking followers to get in touch and offer their opinions on how blasphemy should be dealt with.
Her assumption that blasphemy - which is still punishable by death in some Muslim countries - should also be punished in Britain shocked many viewers.

No, no, no, that will never do. That would be islamophobic and racist... We must send names and addresses to the mullahs, ideally also daily schedules, so that beheadings can be properly planned and efficiently carried out. And when they happen, we must call them "quaint" and "multi-cultural".

Then we can twitter to everybody how tolerant and supportive we are to oppressed beheaders.

It is one thing to say please don't allow them to post anything, but they had the balls to say give us their names so we can prosecute them. In which world these morons live. Tiny little country, face book probably can buy the whole country and sell it in flee market. Yes tell us about them so we can chop their heads and spread our barbaric religious practices to other countries. No matter if you are educated or uneducated , you may be triple phd or doctor or head of the coutry, if you are muslim certain part of your brain is dead. Islam just kills it, that's the worst part of this sick religion.
