Sceintology and you

I was scanning Wikileaks to read some interesting documents, until I run into Scientology's "Religious Services Enrollment Application Agreement and Services". A 6 page mind boggling document on which each new recruit must sign.
.
In all my life dealing with contracts, I have never run into one-sided document such is this rubbish..

Here is the link.

What is an "e-meter"?

Also,
Page 5 wrote:e) I am not connected with any person, ... of known antagonism ... to Scientology

and
f) Neither I nor any member of my immediate family has ever sued, embarrassed or attacked, or threatened to sue, embarrass or attack, Scientology.

g) I am not attempting to investigate Scientology

They really covered their bases.

Impedance is a unit of resistance used in electronic devices.

By way of example. Iron, copper, and other metals, each has difference resistance to electrical conductivity and measured in Ohm. Living organs like human body's resistance is called "impedance" and also measured in ohm.

That "emeter" used by Scientology is nothing more then a simple voltmeter like this:
Image
They place each probe in each hand, and set the dial to "OHM". When pressed with fingers, the device sends very low electrical current through the probes and the body, where the dial indicates the impedance of that person's body.

Since each human body has different resistance (impedance) to electrical currents the dial shows different impedance for each person.

That explains why they don't allow any subject to examine these BS devices.
A cleaver bullshed

ISTR they claim it works on plants, too. Or was that some other outfit?

Every organic material does have resistance to electoral currents going through it. It depends on its conductivity to electrical currents. Dry wood does not conduct electricity, but live plants contain water-mixed with dissolved salt, do conduct electrical current. Again depends of the density of the molecules in that plants. (distilled water does not conduct electricity)

Copper has the least resistance, therefore most conductive one. On other hand, plastic, or glass have the most resistance & do not allow flow of current. The very reason electrical wires are made of copper and coated with plastic, or some form of glass.

Same true for human body. Our organs, body temperature, and blood do conduct electricity - though not as copper or other metals. That's the reason electric chair is used to execute convicted criminals. However, due to body's high impedance (resistance) to electrical currents, they apply 2000v with high volume of current (like water flows through a hose with high pressure and large diameter).

While we are this topic. Electrocution occur only when electric current is allowed to flow to the ground (closed loop). Otherwise, no death or harm is done as long as our body does not make contact to the ground. The very reason it is always wise to wear rubberized or wood-made shoes when working on electrical outlets, because the rubber isolates you from the ground.

What I was thinking of, Hombre, was some outfit that claimed meters could tell how plants were feeling. No doubt they'd claim to spot a difference when Charles Windsor spoke to the plants. :sml:

Wow, so a forest fire must be utter agony for plants.

Thanks. Sounds interesting but for some reason my laptop won't show the videos, only plays the sound.

For browser, I highly recommend Firefox because it is most secure and most popular one out there. Stay away from chrome made by Google, because is it mother of all spies. It is fast because Google had removed most of the code related to security, and other related browing which slow it down.

Firefox has many add-ons which you can install. One of them is Adobe flash Player.

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

after that you should be able to watch videos.
