seven flat earths?

Postby manfred » Fri Jul 13, 2012 8:42 pm

It is Allah who has created the seven heavens and a like number of earths.Qur'an 65:12

Anyone seen the other six earths? In case you are confused where to look, there is this:

Al-Tirmidhi Number 1513
Narrated AbuHurayrah

While Allah's Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions were sitting clouds came over them and Allah's Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "Do you know what these are?" On their replying that Allah and His Messenger knew best, he said, "These are the clouds (anan), these are the water-carriers of the Earth, which Allah drives to people who do not thank Him or call upon him." He then asked, "Do you know what is above you?" On their replying that Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) knew best, he said, "It is the firmament, a ceiling which is guarded and waves which are kept back." He then asked, "Do you know what is between you and it?" On their replying that Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) knew best, he said, "Between you and it are five hundred years." He then asked, "Do you knew what is above that?" On their replying that Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) best he said, "Two heavens with a distance of five hundred years between them." He went on speaking like that till he counted seven heavens, the distance between each pair being like between Heaven and Earth. He then asked, "Do you know what is above that?" On their replying that Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) knew best, he said, "Above that is the Throne, and the distance between it and the (seventh) heaven is the same as that between each pair of heavens."

He then asked, "Do you know what is below you?" On their replying that Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) knew best, he said, "It is the earth." He then asked, "Do you know what is under that?" On their replying that Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) knew best, he said, "Under it there is another Earth with a journey of five hundred years between them," and so on till he had counted seven earths with a journey of five hundred years between each pair. He then said, "By Him in Whose hand Muhammad's soul is, if you were to drop a rope to the lowest earth it would not pass out of Allah's knowledge." He then recited, "He is the First and the Last, the Outward and the Inward, and He is omniscient."

(Allah it is Who hath created seven heavens) one above the other like a dome, (and of the earth the like thereof) seven earths but they are flat. (The commandment cometh down among them slowly) He says: He sends the angels down from heaven with revelation, Scripture and calamities, (that ye may know) and acknowledge (that Allah is Able to do all things) relating to the dwellers of the heavens and the earths, (and that Allah surroundeth all things in knowledge) and that His knowledge encompasses everything'.

So here we have quite a detailed description of the model of the universe as Mohammed and the early Muslims saw it, the universe the Qur'an describes. Seven flat earths, like pizzas one above the other, but with a gap in between. Seven heavens, solid canopies over that. Water above that. Allah's throne above the water, in case needs to go, clouds as carriers of water, rather than water vapour, and shuffled around by Allah.

So, how did the kafir astronomy manage to change what the Qur'an says?
Is the Qur'an is so scientifically accurate, why do we get hadith that show Mohammed up as ignorant of the universe, and tafir insisting on a flat earth?
Should the early Muslims not have explained to us what the universe is like? If the Qur'an is so clear how did Muslims get it so wrong for so long?

NASA got to really take note here:

Allah is telling them that out there somewhere in the universe, there are another 6 planets like earth, containing intelligent lifeforms.
Quran miracle (16:69) : Bees eat ALL fruits
Quran miracle (27:18) : an ant SAID, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."

We had an explanation on how to find these other earths as well. We could use a long rope to climb "down" as the other six are "below".

I really would like to hear how it is possible that Muslims had NO DOUBT at all about the earth being flat, with six more like it below, like a stack of plates. They were utterly convinced that this was the message of the Qur'an, for centuries, some to this day. Only very recently the earth became "egg-shaped" according to the Qur'an, as some have tried to say.

So did the earth change shape? Why did Allah not explain it properly? He said that the Qur'an is plain.

What this verse indicates is that both the seven heavens and earths were prevalent myths back then.
Whenever the Koran starts of with it is the koran is assuming the reader is already aware of what it's talking about.
Therefore it's answering the question, which in this case is who ceated the seven heavens and seven earths?
Which was the myth of the seven visible heavens 'above' them and the seven flat earths 'below' them.
Islam preys on the ignorant and the cowardly, which one are you muslim?

All this is fine and dandy but can you show the word "flat" in the verse?

The fact that it states seven earths and seven heavens doesn't bother you, but flat does?
There are other verses in the Quran indicating a flat earth.

Let's deal first with the seven heavens and seven earth mythology. Then we can move on to "flat".

Unless you are after a misdirection.

This by the way points to the existance of lifeforms elsewhere in the universe 42:29"And one of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and what He has spread forth in both of them of living beings; and when He pleases He is all-powerful to gather them together".

Mohammed explained it differently:

Look at the hadith:

"Do you know what is under that?"

The other earths are "below" this one. Can you explain this, Eagle?
