The "church" is really just a bunch of vultures feeding off the people who are too dumb to actually follow Jesus' prayer instructions on their own so they pay some guy to do it for them.

IMO (I was raised Catholic in private schools), that's pretty much why the church has lost so much of its flock, it became too hard to square this parasitic and militaristic structure with the gospels. But you see that's my point. It took a while yes, but it was Christians - real ones - who saw the abuse of the central message of Christ and demanded reformation from within. It's not done yet to be sure, but the power of the Christian "monarchy" is steadily fading in the developed world. I think one day soon the "heretical" works of Thomas might become mainstream, such as when he quoted Christ saying, "You will not find me in mansions of wood and stone. Lift a rock and you will find me, split a piece of wood and I am there."

Islam, on the other hand, has no such discontinuity within its texts to worry at the consciences and logic of its practitioners. Muslims conquering and subjecting unbelievers and ruling with an iron fist are doing exactly what their icon of perfection preached AND did himself, so there will likely BE no reformation from within. IMO it will have to be some "jolting" event such as those which shocked the Nazis and Japanese imperialists out of their own dream-states of superiority and destiny. I know that sounds ominous, but I don't see this going down any other way.
