Yes I saw that debate. This debate is only 90 mins about few points. The book is far more detailed and replies point by point about 150 allegations. if I have time I will try to write some here. Though there are few points I don't agree with Moustafa, I think he is bull shitting.

Seriously, this guy Moustafa thinks that Robert Spencer and his likes are against Islam because it is the best way to make money? (according to what he said on the video you posted)
You are right about Moustafa and his baloney then.
Just like some muslims here, when are they gonna learn that if you want to present yourself as the one to provide answers to the 'real' Islam, it is imperative that you refrain from any kind of baloney to have credibility to what you say or write.

admittedly I have not had the pleasure to be acquainted with Robert Spencer's books. I live in Israel. his books are not available here. I read books in Hebrew language. I had the opportunity to read Ali Sina's book which is english. (have you?) my english is not ideal. hence some of things written I was unable to digest. recently I purchased two books which were on special sale (two for one price) I were intending to buy in that sale a new book by Ronen Bergman "The Secret War With Iran" which is an extensive historical collection of investigative journalism over Iran and Israel connection. but someone beat me to it. there were limited editions for sale and last one that left happens I missed. I hope the other guy will benefits from it.

and I am a picky person I don't buy any book and I don't buy often. luckily for me I found other books that attract me.
one is "Raquel, The Jewess of Toledo" by Lion Feuchtwanger
fascinating story about Jews living in Spain during Christian and Islamic rule. and the second one is "Islam's Crisis" by Bernard Lewis.

It was very entertaining to watch Mr. Moustafa Zayed squirm. But whatever Mr. Zayed said does not change the fact that the non-Muslims are not tolerated in Muslim countries, at best they are second class citizens. Everyday Christians and Muslims of minority sects are being killed in Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq and Pakistan. How does Mr. Zayed explain the lack of religious freedom in Muslim countries? Why the followers of the most benevolent Prophet are the most intolerant? Why do Muslims not answer this simple question?

We need more scholars like Robert Spencer who are forthright and not afraid to speak the truth. He is a true fighter. He is being very effective in combating Islamic evil and exposing the lies of devious Muslims like Mr. Moustafa Zayed.

Herein lies the whole problem. You cannot prove/disprove the existence of God, so existence/non existence is 50:50. So religion must be rooted in the insecurities of Humans. Some ass was afraid of the dark so he invented god to protect him. One year he lost his ass so he invented another god to protect his livestock. And so on. Eventually god took on a life of its own and we have the mess we have now. Makes me feel good that I am just a mere agnostic. PROVE to me god exists and I will be happy to join the ranks of the worshippers.

Not really. God is usually postulated as an answer to the origin of the universe. To say god's existence is 50:50 would be like saying that there can be only two possible explanations to the origin of the universe, a creator or no creator. Well how do we know that there aren't a billion different possible answers that we cannot even dream off because we're not intelligent enough? In that scenario the odds would be a billion to one. You cannot use odds at something that is completely beoynd our understanding. Personally I wouldn't use odds on anything because even if we calculate the odds at a googlplex to one, the calculation doesn't matter anything when the odds for whatever reason does exactly that what we thought was impropable. The universe doesn't care about our calculations on improbabilities, if something happens then it happens no matter what we thought of it's propability.

Islam means peace.
It does??? I thought it means "surrender". The "peace" that follows is the "peace" of a defeated man, a victim.

Islam is not a new religion.
True, to some extent. It "borrowed" most of its teachings from other religions, even from secular classical texts. However, many renderings of these texts are inaccurate, and not true to the original. Muslims explain that with the "corrupted bible" theory. This has been debunked many times over. It is common sense to affirm that older texts are closer to the meaning the author intended than younger ones. You need a pretty good reason to declare an exception to that rule. Vitally, Islam cannot provide such a convincing case. They point to "contradictions" in the bible, failing to appreciatate that the bible had many authors and many different litterary styles, so different and evolving views are to be expected. By contrast, the contractions in the quran are usually "explained" by saying its a language problem.

Allah means "God".
Well, yes and no. Allah was the term originally used to refer to the moongod of the Ka'aba, the most powerful god. Mohammed declared this deity to be the only god. He also, for reasons of building legitimacy, equated this Allah with the God of the bible. Allah and the God of the bible have a very different personality.

Mohammed is a messenger of God.
Well, to Muslims.... First, if Mohammed was the messenger, what was the message? It seems to be entirely "obey Mohammed without question, or you will die and go to hell". This message is seriously lacking in stature, compared with Moses's Torah, for example. There are simply too many issues in the quran to take Mohammed seriously: if the Quran is God's word,written before time, for all mankind, why is there a chapter entirely devoted to slagging off Mohammed's uncle?

Also, a messenger serves a sender. Reading the quran in context, it generally is Allah who serves Mohammed. Mohammed generally only serves Mohammed.

boy you guys pulled out a ooold thread and typing away something. but any one of you read the book?? watching videos and talking is different from reading the book or article..With books and articles you can take what they write and criticall analyze it..
