Religious affiliation of FFI members

Postby Ariel » Thu Aug 06, 2009 2:06 pm

Dear all.
A request from Brain. He wants to know the religious affiliation of FFI members, as he is trying to unblock the site from netnanny and few other content filter software. People there are arguing that we are not representing a wide spectrum of society and that only few Christian and Muslim fundamentalists visit the site.

So can you please cast your vote?

Thank you in advance.

Ariel.

Atheist Rocks!
Look around yourself and you'll find people with virtues are never required to demand respect since they automatically earn it. It is only those that are devoid of any virtues need to threaten and bully to gain respect. Needless to say that quran cannot be from God.

I wants this thread cached in search engines.
I'm hoping not just votes but comments also as why they follow this or that religion.

Atheism is not a 'religious affiliation.

Yes, that's right. It's a mental disorder.
ImageImage

Hgh? No jews, muslims, or sikhs.

No shintos or confucionists or mormons, zoroastrians. What the hell.

But seriously. This is a rather secular forum but agnosticism should also be a choice.

I picked christianity because I'm a catholic. But I'm hardly a religious catholic though. I'm a deist and I do believe in religion because it makes a better society. But the religion has to be an ethical one. And islam has many ethical problems.
And I've never really been enthralled by atheism. I've always held the belief that there are two reasons to be an atheist. 1) They had a bad personal experience with someone of a particular faith that they now loathe. And now they carry that resentment for that particular faith, even though the quarrel they have is with that individual. And 2) It's stylish, fashionable, and en vogue. It's so chic not to be constrained by the quaint, simplistic, values of an antiquated holy book.

But on a website like this one, it's much more advantageous to be an atheist. If you're going to criticize islam, it's better to be on a non-religious plane. Because a muslim who is offended by this forum could easily play the tu quoque game with you if you're christian or jewish or hindu.

"You don't like islam---well, what about the crusades?"

"You don't like islam---well, what about the zionists in palestine?"

"You don't like islam---well, what about the caste system?

And then it becomes a *my religion is better than your religion* game. But if this forum were sponsored by evangelical christians who were actively looking to convert muslims out of their religion---then they'll just roll their eyes.

And that's because a believing theist is laughed at as just another crazy wacko who is not a muslim.

Anywho..........may god bless all of us

at least until the day of judgment where some of us will go to hell :evil2:

I can't vote. I'm agnostic not "other religious affiliation".
It is not logical to believe that the same God who has allegedly endowed us with sense, reasons, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.

If these percentages remain stable (more or less) will the Net-Nannies be pleased? Is there a proper balance among the the deluded / mentally ill / right-thinking for FFI to see the light of day among the worried business class?

Sorry Ariel. I was so busy. I have voted now.

You are right.

I am a very proud muslim who loves Ala and His book Koran and His pure religion of Islam and His holy messenger prophet Mohamed.

I read this creed every day:

"There is no God except Ala and Mohamed is the Messenger of Ala."

Pleased or not, they'll conclude that there is no genuine dialogue here between Muslims and non-Muslims, only between non-Muslim theists and non-Muslim atheists.

6.25% are Muslims, that's a higher percentage than Muslims in Netnannyland.

But it's not all about dialogue. No one posts on all the forums he visits. So imaginably there are many Muslims who lurk.

Are there any rules AGAINST the presence of Muslims here at FFI? Not a one. So we are celebrating diversity. We are wedded to diversity!

We are wedded to diversity! Diversity is good! We are wedded to diversity! Why aren't the nannies happy with FFI?
