FFI Moderators’ Guidelines
Herein are the Guidelines for the Moderator team of October 2004. These guidelines are meant for general procedural guidance only, and the Moderators reserve the right to change these guidelines without notice at any time. The guidelines are not rules, and the moderators reserve the right to apply them as they see fit.
The policies upon which the Moderators take action are detailed below:
A. Compliance with the FFI Terms of Service (aka The Dao of the forum or its 10 commandments), and other conditions (if any) of use on the Forum main page and the login page.
B. Fair and efficient running of the forum – these include, but are not limited to, reducing ‘thread hijackings’; reducing ‘long posts’; eliminating ‘long copy-pastes’; stopping ‘intentional bypassing of board mechanisms’ such as circumventing the profanity filter, multi-nicking, or working around bans; elimination where detected of ‘defamatory’ material; protection of individual privacy; and preventing the misuse of PM’s.
Guidelines
1. Moderators usually take action upon receiving a complaint from a forum member. Moderators may also take unilateral action without notice from forum members.
2. Depending on the severity of the breaches, Moderators shall issue to the forum member up to THREE “Friendly Reminders”.
3. Depending on the severity of the breaches, Moderators shall give up to THREE “Serious Warnings” following the Friendly Reminders.
4. Depending on the severity of the breaches, if further breaches are incurred by the forum member after receiving Serious Warnings, the Moderator team may elect to take punitive measures against the forum member.
