Here are my reasons

1) Why don u understand the purpose of religion in world? Cant u see the real reason why a religion exists? Its not that people shd pray god and be god fearing . Its pity that people dont understand that its created so that there exists some kind of order and ethics in life

2)Ofcourse , there might be certain aspects in religions which in turn are harmful for mankind, but do u think majority of people dont hav the discern to understand what good and what bad is ? What are u people trying to prove by criticizing other religions here? U are either hurting the personal sentiments or u are making them disbeleivers of religion ,which might cause people turn into real dvils!

3)If there is one thng which is still holding the world together , its religion. WHy cant u respect it? Be it any religion, just point out that there are certain things which are not to be taken seriously, that is enough , never criticise a religion or some ones god. Let religions be bad but not everry oen following religion is bad, people still make some good decisons and are behaving in a proper way.
the frequent criticizing will only cvreate more triggers of hatred among people and more belivers of their relogion. Its kind of simple human psychology.

Even though the example is not fully apt, Communist societies have proved that order and ethics are possible without religions. The real question is what kind of order and what kind of ethics? In fact, it is politics, and not religion, which seeks to create order in a society. Religions have dished out moral laws majority of which have caused immense harm to the humanity at large.

I do not care about hurting the personal sentiment of a religious person whose religion teaches him to hurt my life and freedom. Disbelieving in some fairy tale has never harmed anybody. Believing in them, on the other hand, has.

In fact religion has been the cause of a great many conflicts in the human history. I wonder how can you say that religion is holding the world "together". Blind beliefs, especially the ones that exhorts a human being to kill, subjugate, rape of enslave others, do not deserve any respect. Frequent criticism might trigger more hatred among people, but not doing so would only encourage a hateful religion which is far more detrimental.

I don't think you have ever read Quran. Once you read it, you will realize what "provoking hatred" truly is. And no, your prescription is faulty. A diseased organ never heals itself if you ignore it and try to nurture the healthier ones instead. You have to treat the diseased organ by attacking and destroying the disease causing reasons; even amputations are needed sometimes to save the patient.

As I have said, weeding out the harmful plants benefits the desired crop. Killing the disease causing bacteria and virus promotes health. Amputating a rotting limb saves the life of the patient. By showing some one that his religion promotes hatred and violence we actually are trying to help him get rid of the hatred.

I fully agree with you . The general blind belief here alteast is that all religions are equal and they all teach only good things . My roomate is a hindu and believes that islam is not a dangerous religion because he doesnt know what islam says.Many people here believe like my asshole room mate so its not new to me. The basic problem I believe is the myth that floats around that all religions are equal. A lie if repeated often becomes the truth. This is What hitler said and its true to the core. Right from the childhood you hear such things like all religions are good and its people who misinterpret it and hence you naturally tend to take that as a true fact or something that is common sense. Actually most hindus are unaware of what islam says and plus islamic apologists lie heavily to fool them .Hurting feelings of religious groups is a crime here so people are shaped into believing that islam truly is a good religion. You can call that brainwashing and thats why you find such thinking .Its only those who have studied islam with an open mind can see the ugliness of the religion.

We certainly have some of the same blindness here in Britain, but what we DON'T have is a history of Muslim imperialist invasion and mass slaughter.

To some extent it is understandable that so many Indians concentrate their spleen against the imperialism of the British; after all, the post independance era naturally emphasised that because, after all, India had just won its independence from Britain.

If your roomie has any interest, I would recommend reading "Islamic Jihad - A Legacy of Forced Conversion, Imperialism, and Slavery" by M.A.Khan (an ex Muslim). It is a well referenced book and, although it does not cover India exclusively, India is predominant.

By way of synopsis, it covers nearly the entire history of the Jihadis and Islamic imperialist conquests (giving special focus on India) right up to the present day. I wonder how many Indians are aware that, prior to the Islamic invasions, India had one of the most advanced cultures the world has ever seen. They believed in education for the masses and had universities and libraries spread liberally all over the country. They excelled in education: astronomy, philosophy, maths, etc. and had also developed incredible craftmanship. Damascas Steel, for example, is not some Arabic invention and "Damascas" is descriptive only of its major marketing location and NOT its origin. It was developed in Southern India - well before the Islamic invasion. Likewise Islam has tried to take credit for many other things developed by Indians - like algebra and the concept of zero.

But I digress: The Muslims did not deem education to be suitable for dhimmi (non-Muslim) peoples. The educational system of India was destroyed: universities and libraries burned down and Muslim-only schools/madrassas established. The religious establishment was also savaged - temples torn down or turned into mosques.

They came to an advanced culture and destroyed it. One can only speculate what an amazing place India might be today had it not been so destroyed by Islamic Imperialism.

With all the interruptions with phone calls and doorbell ringing, and my slowness as a typist,I nearly timed-out with my above post so had to post it before I'd finished.

One of the better features of the book is that it has tons of quotes from the Muslim chroniclers themselves, so there can be no accusation that such accounts are from infidels and thus "biased". Thus we get jubilant accounts of mountains of heads from massacred Hindus, accounts of the executions of thousands of surrendered people going on all day and through the night. (On one specific recorded occasion, 100,000 captives slaughtered.)

As but one small example, that most famous of musicians and poets, Amil Khasrau, a sufi Muslim, took a particularly vicious delight in the slaughter of Hindus during his era.

30,000 Hindu captives were slaughtered at Chittor (1303), and when the then 50 year-old Khasrau heard of it, he exalted: "Praise be to God! That he so ordered the massacre of all chiefs of Hind out of the pale of Islam, by his infidel smiting swords...in the name of this Khalifa of God, that hererodoxy has no rights (in India)."

(note: many of these 30,000 were actually peasants)

And of the general jihad against the Hindus, he gloated: " The whole country, by means of the sword of our holy warriors, has become like a forest denuded of its thorns by fire. Islam is triumphant, idolatry is subdued. Had not the Law granted exemption from death by the payment of the poll-tax, the very name of Hind, root and branch, would have been extinguished."

(note: "poll-tax" = discriminatory jizya tax. This tax [meant only for "people of the book" monotheists] was only eventually applied to Hindus because the Muslims found it impossible to massacre them all - though they certainly gave it a try.)

No matter how gifted in music and poetry, Khasrau was a "good" Muslim who gloried in the massacres of Hindus and believed utterly in Muslim supremacy, the bloodthirsty bigot.

I wonder if anonymousarabit thinks that keeping quiet about Islam's dispicable doctrine did anything to stop the 1400 years of non-stop Jihad and aggression against non-Muslims? So why does he think burying his head in the sand will magically make it stop now?
