Where's everybody gone?

Post by antineoETC »

Not so many people active here as there used to be. Where have they all gone?
It is in the nature of wasp nests that some of their inhabitants are bound to sting someone. The closer you are to are to a wasp nest the more likely you are to get stung, sometimes fatally. Who would encourage wasps to establish a nest in their house?

My guess..
To twitter and facebook.

And many, many don't care anymore, because they get used to Islam in their life.

:clueless:

All alone am I with just the beat of my heart..

People all around but I don't hear a sound
Just the lonely beating of my heart

No use in holding other hands
For I'd be holding only emptiness

The heart of the wise inclines to the right,
but the heart of the fool to the left.

Congrats for your new computer!

May it work without problems.

If I may make a suggestion, back up the data at least once a week.

All the best.

But you are not alone
I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
You are not alone.

I guess that will be a problem pr, I am not as clever as you are. Because I do not know how to do that. :ermm:
I rely on JW. ( son) . He ones has brought all my stuff back after I lost it. He was not happy about it though..
It seems that not always everything is lost when you have lost it. If you still know what I mean. :ehh:

And a happy, happy Christmas time to you to.

Backing up data:

Microsoft Windows has one built into the operating system. No need to buy one.

Backing up can be automated to do it without any problem.

However, backing up data should be on an external hard drive, not on the same drive you are using.
Why? Because if the hard drive fails the backup is also gone.

Best ask JW (son) to set it up for you, then you can do it on your own.

Windows Update and security > Backup >

I back-up PR's advice. I'll add: keep the external drive somewhere else between backups, just in case (heaven forbid) your computer gets stolen. I try to keep really important stuff backed up to DVD periodically, too: they're quite cheap these days. You can back up to the net with things like Google Drive and Microsoft One-drive - free and automatic once it's set up properly. I haven't tried it though because I haven't decided how best to seriously encrypt stuff before flinging it into the wilds of the Interwebs.

However, more importantly, has anyone heard anything from Manfred yet?

I back up 3 copies every week on Sunday.
The backup goes to the Synology server, which then sends a copy to an external hard disk and sends a copy to the cloud (Google Drive).
The Synology is Raid one, which means a double drive if one drive fails the other drive has a usable copy of the backup at any time.

It is worrying about manfred that no word is coming from him.

That would be amazing! As Manfred has a critical and analytical mind he would love to comment on our latest very revisionist theories that even makes Iblis blush. He better returns soon then.
