Ex Muslims please let me understand your logic

Postby ali12 » Wed Sep 05, 2012 9:10 pm

I am a Muslim and I think that I am in a right way because I am at the way of Islam . But I think about ex Muslims . Why are they leaving Islam after knowing it ? I think if I cant believe the main facts of Islam then its not possible to believe the matters of other religions . So I am very interested to know about the thinking of them . Its just my curiosity not taking position against them .

ex muslims "knowing it" hence left it. when you end up to know it, you will leave it too.

I knew Islam, and that is exactly why I left. The 'main facts' of the religion were taken from other religions, cultures, and tribes: Circumcision from Judaism, 30-day fasting and 5 daily prayers and even La ilahah il Allah from the Sabians, wrong (as we know now) science from the ancient Greeks... you get my drift.

There are a few reasons why I left, some personal and some not-so personal. I couldn't get past the contradictions in the Quran, I couldn't bring myself to defend Mohammed's marriage to Aisha by claiming it was the 'custom' back then, because Mohammed is painted as an example for all men for all of eternity... so the custom argument then falls flat on its face, doesn't it?

I couldn't get over the fact that God is supposed to be omniscient, yet still will send us to hell. For sins he should have known we'd commit, because he programmed us that way! If he didn't know we'd commit sins, then he is not omniscient. I do realise this is a general anti-religion argument, rather than specifically anti-Islam. Still, it is valid.

ali12: Not an ex Muslim but in a Nutshell it comes down to one thing " Obey Muhammad".

I mean can you imagine the god of an infinite universe, billions of years old, and waiting those billions of years just to tell an illiterate pagan Arab to tell other superstitious 7th century Arabs to obey him and be his slave because that is what Allah wants. Obeying a man is what has gotten this entire world in it's pitiful shape. So believing Allah to believe in a Man just doesn't make sense. Muhammad isn't God and No Man will ever be one. Muhammad is about as important to Allah as a bacteria is to you. The sad thing about it, Islam is used from the time you were born to control you and your behavior. It isn't about Allah it is about Muhammad and his lust for sex power and money. He could have any woman he wanted but other Muslims couldn't. (SEX) He got 20 percent of the booty other Muslims didn't.(MONEY) He demanded obedience to himself and likened it to obedience to Allah.(POWER) Islam looks pretty earthly to me. Pathetic little orphan boy Muhammad wanted to be powerful and important and through the violence of his made up religion Islam it happened, but at the cost of every single Muslim that has ever lived. ali12 I hope you don't become one of his victims.

But you should add "Gods is not in any religion". This is important to add especially for Moslems.

The way you started out saying re: billions of years and then God choosing this group to give this revelation, also applies that that perspective rules out any other religion. No religion puts this creation of the universe as the start (big bang) and all the things that lead to the human mind gaining the ability to think today, as journey that god guided.

Hence there is not God.

The hateful brutal cruel nature of god should make everybody leave Islam. And the perverted nature of Muhammad, and utter stupidity of quran is icing on the cake.

I'd agree, at least when it comes to the Abrahamic religions. If you trade in Islam for Christianity or Judaism, you're just eating up the same crap on a different plate. Though the latter two at least give you more wiggle room to be a moderate because there's less horror in them that's regarded as the unchangeble and eternal word of God.

For me, once you remove the mysticism, and start thinking about it in an objective fashion, it became clear that the religion is utter and complete baloney.
I find no way to reconcile logic and Islam. It is far too divorced.

Isn't it odd that a Muslim should ask about understanding logic? :smartass:

hmm, I thought only Muslims and Ex-Muslims were allowed to post here?

You may think he's being ignorant, but you were in his same shoes once upon a time. That should cause you pain and wanting to help him out as much as you can, not poking fun at his intelligence.
