Re: questions for eagle about Abraham

Of course there were many kaabas. But only one was revered by all of Arabia and the Quran refers to a specific one with a definite article as well as associates the same rites with it as it does with masjid al haram and the Abrahamic legacy. There is zero evidence of any mosque purposefully facing a...

Re: signs

Neither is it what the verse says. It calls for contemplation on an intelligent design, a higher purpose of existence.

Re: Mohammed,Born And Died A Pagan

So pagan parents is no more a dismissing criteria?

Solomon is a biblical prophet for the reasons mentioned and he is a model for every Christ loving bible reader. Did he cease being a prophet while building pagan worship sites?

Re: The Golden Rule

Show the hadith from the prophet Muhammad stating sura 60 was abrogated. Also show that the mingling intended in this particular verse includes pushing dhimmis on the side of the road

Of course that YHWH breaks the golden rule by commanding genocides. See the references above.

Re: In search for the historical Mohammed

No, I merely pointed out the serious flaw with hadith reliability. No you have simply dismissed without proof. What is that serious flaw you have shown Eagle the first Muslim coins date from 694, and are identical with Byzantine ones, complete with emperor and sons, but with the cross removed. This...

Re: all things are in pairs?

You presented the pairing in the Quran as erroneuous because it supposedly speaks of sexual pairing in nature. You have not provided evidence for the claim. The pairing alluded to is not in terms of similarities but complementarity, interdependence. The Quran uses that argument in the context of pro...

Re: In search for the historical Mohammed

You mean history stopped existing prior to be written down?

And of course that rulers have minted above previous coins. This is undisputed among scholarly cycles and for the reasons mentioned

Re: The Golden Rule

Of course that sura 60 says to be freely mingle with peaceful non Muslims. This negates the first claim. The purpose of retrospective religious interpretation in the Bible isn't the issue. It is YHWH who ordered to genocides. Did he break the golden rule? And of course it is an everlasting genocidal...

Re: all things are in pairs?

You want the pairing to be sexual complementarity exclusively. What makes you think it is the "obvious interpretation"? You on one side, and all creation on the other for a pair. You and every individual among that group also form a pair. Every atom of your body and the same in another individual ar...

Re: questions for eagle about Abraham

Calling the one and only masjid al haram as the place of specific pilgrimage and rites, then speaking of the same rites as occurring in the one and only Kaaba, means it is the same location. This is basic historical researching. What you and those with you are doing is conjecturing in the dark.

Re: Mohammed,Born And Died A Pagan

Role models or not, it is irrelevant to the contention. If a man claiming to be prophet is born to pagan parents, does that negate his claim? If yes than what about Abraham Of course Solomon was a prophet, accurding to the biblical standards. Just like David, his divinely inspired writings are scatt...

Re: The Golden Rule

In Islam you are not allowed to make friends with unbelievers. ALL are "enemies". No, Muslims can freely mingle with non-Muslims that do not seek harming us 60:8-9. Did YWHW break that rule when he commanded his prophets and for all times to come to exterminate innocent nations whenever they or the...

Re: The Golden Rule

A source is a source. It says what it says. Given his very own dead pot society, this account of Mohammed's behaviour is entirely within character. If you dismiss any inconvenient source about Mohammed, you end up with a fictional Mohammed, a legendary person who never lived. It isn't about convine...

Re: In search for the historical Mohammed

This is the big problem with establishing much around early Islam. We have little to go on from in terms of early sources, and archaeology is scant too. What we can be fairly sure of though is that much of "established" history of early Islam is based of naive acceptance of very late sources. By th...

Re: all things are in pairs?

eagle, when you realise that the obvious meaning of the text is a nonsense, and then you start changing what it says, so that you get something you can live with, that is forcing things into the text. That's not answering the question. How does one come to the conclusion that what is intended is ge...

Saying the pairing intended is gender based is not forcing "some non-existent sense" into the verse? Which evidence do you have for your faulty understanding?

Re: Please answer my questions, Eagle

Not trying. My belief is not in jinn but in Islam which has a set of rules including not conjecturing on areas the Quran and the traditions are silent upon.

Still not over the phonetical similarity jinn/genes?
